They approve a one-year extension to build the new Regional University Center of San Miguelito

A one-year extension for the construction of the new Regional University Center of San Miguelito (CRUSAM) of the University of Panama, was approved by the Administrative Council of the University of Panama (UP).

This extension, approved at Meeting No. 10-22, held on October 12, will be in force until October 2023, which will allow the DSA-2207-19 work to continue, for the Study, Development of Plans, Design of Special and Pluvial Systems. and Construction of the New Regional University Center (material and labor) from December 28, 2022 to October 12, 2023.

The new headquarters, whose approximate cost is 65.9 million balboas, will be located in the Las Cumbrecitas neighborhood, district of Panama.

The works contemplate the construction of laboratories, sports areas, auditorium, library, classrooms and technological innovation center, parking, among other amenities.

Currently, CRUSAM is located in the La Gran Estación Shopping Center, since the facilities were acquired in 2007, and has a population of nearly four thousand undergraduate students, and about 150 postgraduate students, who are attended by about 330 teaching and administrative staff.
