The National Police and the Public Ministry, apprehended this Tuesday morning, October 25, the leader and three of the members of a criminal group dedicated to Aggravated Scams, through the sale of cars with false documents, through Operation Scheme.
The arrests occurred after simultaneous operations in the Tocumen and Santa Ana districts, in the latter in search of evidence related to events such as vehicle registration and inspection documents.
According to the PN, in Monterrico and La Siesta, the suspects were apprehended, including the ringleader, from whom two firearms, ammunition, cash, and technological equipment were seized.
“This group is dedicated to carrying out scams through social networks, where they sell cars with false documents, later they appropriate the vehicle, claiming to have filed the complaint and that they also maintain the legal documents,” the institution detailed about the investigations of the cases.
