People flocked to the markets for supplies on the fourth day of the census strike

The markets officially opened their doors from 6 a.m. this Tuesday to supply the Santa Cruz population, which this day begins the fourth day of indefinite unemployment due to the 2023 census. While in the new Los Pozos market, the influx of buyers was not the same as in the other supply centers, despite the supply of essential products.

Meanwhile, in the center of the city, sales are irregular. The New Market (Sucre on the corner of Cochabamba) is not attended to, while in the 7 Calles market there are few open stalls. The merchants say that due to the lack of transportation, people cannot get there.

Martha Padilla moved from the Palmasola refinery area to the city center to open her grocery store. “I will attend until noon because we are in favor of the census. We have to supply customers. We make the sacrifice, the government is closed and does not want to give its arm to twist, ”she explained.
