Chamber of Deputies approves and dispatches to law initiative that extends voluntary teaching evaluation to 2022

The Chamber of Deputies and Deputies approved and enacted into law the initiative that extends the voluntary nature of teacher evaluation to 2022, due to the complexities generated by the Covid-19 pandemic, which have prevented the normal development of educational activities.

This is a proposal initiated by senators Yasna Provoste, Fidel Espinoza and Jaime Quintana. Its scope was explained by Deputy Alejandra Placencia, through the report of the Education Commission.

The text allows education professionals to suspend the surrender of the instruments of the National System for the Recognition and Promotion of Professional Teacher Development. This, if it were up to them to render them during 2022.

In this framework, it suspends the rendering of the professional performance evaluation that must be carried out this year. This suspension will operate from the moment this law enters into force.

Education professionals who were to be evaluated in 2022 must do so next year.
