Initially, the President wanted to wait for the result of the progress of the side letters (bilateral letters) with the member countries of the TPP11, since he had been critical of the dispute resolution mechanisms by the ad-hoc arbitration tribunals that he establishes, but Due to a series of cross-cutting questions, it will finally be ratified before the end of the year.

This was confirmed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonia Urrejola, who reported that the Executive will ratify the agreement before the end of the year despite the fact that it does not make progress in the side letters with the other TPP countries11.
“We are doing all the urgency to get the side letters with the signatory countries of TPP11, but we have set a deadline for that, which is the end of the year,” said Urrejola.
“At the end of the year, the TPP11 Treaty will be deposited, whether or not there are bilateral letters,” said the Secretary of State.
It should be noted that TPP11 was approved last Wednesday, October 12, by the Senate Chamber, so it was signed into law and it only remains for President Gabriel Boric to promulgate the treaty and make the final deposit.
