Quito’s Secretary of Mobility said that users of transport without a license would be fined. The entity clarified that the penalty is for not wearing a mask.
During a press conference held on January 13, 2022, the Secretary of Mobility of Quito, Ricardo Pozo, spoke about the obligation to present the Vaccination card in buses, transfer stops and institutional transport in the capital.
Although initially, Pozo stated that there would be economic sanctions, minutes later, the Secretary issued a message saying: “We made the following precision: There is no sanction for the person who does not carry the Vaccination card”.
And he added that for the person who does not use the face mask (both inside and outside the unit) the penalty fee it is 25% of a unified basic salary; that is $ 106.25.
While the operator, if they do not comply with the biosafety regulations, may incur a sanction of up to four Unified Basic Salaries.
Measure
The presentation of the Vaccination card has a socialization time of eight days from January 14 to January 21. “From January 22, 2022, the respective sanctions will apply,” says the secretariat despite stating that there will be no sanctions.
Those who do not have Vaccination card, said the Secretary, they will not be admitted and will have to use other types of means of mobilization. (AVV)
