Cibao giants dominate the Eastern Stars with pure hits in the Julián Javier

San Francisco de Macorís, RD- Richard Ureña homered and Jorge Martínez completed four innings of just one run, and the Gigantes del Cibao dominated the Estrellas Orientales this Sunday at the Julián Javier, with the result, the defending champions place their mark on 4-4.

The Cibao Giants starter, Jorge Martínez, had another quality start, in four and two-thirds innings, five hits, two runs, one earned, one walk and four strikeouts. Reymín Guduán (1-0,2.25), was the winner of the match.

The All-Star pitching staff was attacked early in the game, Shaun Anderson, the Easterns starter, couldn’t complete the first inning, only throwing a third of three hits and two earned runs. Chase Shugart (1-1, 12.00), lost the match.
Liover Peguero hit an RBI double in the first run for the Giants, in the same first inning and Carlos Peguero with a single, drove in the second for the Cibao team.

Richard Ureña in the bottom of the third hit a two-run homer to right field to make the score 4-0.
In the fourth inning, Tito Polo stole home, challenging the defense of All-Star catcher Rodolfo Durán and scored the fifth. Carlos Peguero with a single, extended the score 6-0.

The Eastern Stars produced two in the fifth, José Tena and Gustavo Núñez, connected singles, driving the first two rounds of the green team. Rodolfo Durán with a solo home run got closer to the scoreboard in the sixth, 6-3.

The defending champions return to the road this Monday to face the Toros del Este at the Francisco Micheli in La Romana, in a match scheduled to start at 7:30 PM.
