The Citizen Community (CC) alliance expressed its repudiation of the acts of violence recorded against legislators by the Police. On the other hand, Carlos Mesa suggested new deadlines for the census and asked the Government to repeal Decree 4760 to make the dialogue viable.

“Luisa Nayar, Maria Rene Alvarez, Richard Rivera and Carlos Arrien have been violently attacked by members of the National Police, violating and ignoring constitutional guarantees as assembly members. We express our full solidarity with them and express our total repudiation,” says part of the statement.

Deputy Nayar reported, through her social networks, that she, along with other legislators they were gassed by the Police at the doors of the Felcc of Santa Cruz, while they asked to enter to verify the state of health of the detainees in Puerto Quijarro.

“Del Castillo, this is not going to stay like this, we will resort to international bodies, since his blue justice applauds his illicit acts,” the parliamentarian wrote.

This day three people were apprehended as allegedly involved in the death of a citizen in Puerto Quijarro during a confrontation.

CC leader Carlos Mesa maintained that the date of the census is a reflection of the “polarization” that the country is experiencing, whose conflict originated from the “failure to comply with the word” of the Government regarding the census that, according to the authorities, was advancing optimally to be carried out in 2022.

Faced with this conflictive panorama, he suggested to the Executive to assume “credible” commitments from the repeal of Supreme Decree 4760 “that if it is not changed, it makes the recovery of the credibility of one of the parties unviable”.

To do this, Mesa proposed carrying out the census until the second half of 2023 and deliver the final results in the first half of 2024, which must be applied immediately during the second semester of 2024.

“A new justice and independent Public Ministry, the new electoral register, constituencies and seats, will be applied in the electoral process of 2025 and before the election of the main authorities of the country for the period 2025-2030″, concludes the proposal.

If the date proposed by the Government is maintained, the results will be applied in 2025, electoral time. While the distribution of seats would only be done in 2030.

President Luis Arce left the date open and proposed that it be defined in technical tables, but today it was rejected by the Civic Committee that made an evaluation of the strike days.
