The company emerged as a spin off of the Uruguayan Infocorp, offers a marketing automation product specialized in financial institutions such as banks or credit unions (cooperatives) in the US market.
The tool helps marketing teams to use the information they have about their customers – which is a lot and valuable – and with that starting point execute segmented and personalized communications or offers for each client through the multiple channels through which they interact. .
“Today a financial institution interacts with the client through emails or messaging, but also when I connect to online banking or when I call to ask for help with something,” said the CEO of Prisma, Felipe Gil. That is why Prisma acts as an intermediary that is between the data that the bank has of its clients and that is not normally used and the client himself.
“There is a typical technological and process challenge between the data on one side and the communication channels on the other”, Gil reflected, assuring that with this tool the communication of financial institutions becomes more effective and therefore also more profitable.
Its product is used in Uruguayan banks, but also in the second largest bank in Chile, in the most important in Panama and even a large part of its market is in the United States where its greatest focus of growth is also.
the beginnings
Prisma emerged in 2014 as part of the Infocorp company. From that moment on, it began its expansion through different regional markets until, in 2017, it was decided that the company would be a spin off of Infocorp, which would allow it to expand more aggressively and to new markets. “From that moment I became the co-founder,” Gil recalled.
Beyond the support of its mother company, Prisma became an independent firm that was financed thanks to the contribution of investors through the obtaining of seed capital.
Later, in 2018, they landed in the United States with the aim of developing a network of partners and resellers of the product.
Today, the main objective is to turn the company into the right hand of the marketing areas in North American financial institutions, in particular, for the credit unions, which are some 10,000 companies of different sizes.
They currently work with five companies that resell Prisma in that market and also have a dozen technology providers that do not resell it, but do offer it integrated into their platforms.
The startup has more than 35 clients in the United States out of a total of 60, so more than half of its turnover comes from that country.
The future
The company has a team of 15 people who work mostly from Sinergia Golf.
“As a young and small startup, what Sinergia has given us is the peace of mind of not having to deal with a lot of things that are not the core of the business”, reflected the CEO of Prisma. And he stressed that, in turn, being a company dedicated to a product can grow exponentially in billing without having to grow in a large number of personnel, since it is not like in the export of technological services that its growth goes directly from the hand with more staff, which is why the flexibility offered by Sinergia to enlarge the team or work remotely if they have to travel, is ideal for them.
