Luis Pettengill, candidate for senator for the ANR (Republican Force), affirms that he wants
work from the legislature in the creation of more sources of work. This, because it is
the common factor in terms of needs found in various departments of the country.
Why did you enter the political arena?
I already spent 47 years in the private sector and it really went very well for me. I have companies
relatives who are working very well. My children have already taken care of some of
them, so I think this is a moment. With the opening of lists there is a way to
enter without having to resort to prebendary. Faced with this new possibility that one should get their votes, an opportunity was opened for many people.
Are people tired of the old politics?
People are tired, I am convinced that politicians should govern the country.
I think they are the legitimate representatives who have to lead this government. In some
given moment, we see things happening in Parliament that do not outrage the
citizenship. We don’t deserve to have water thrown in our faces, to say rude things
that are not even heard in Market 4.
That is what disbelief does towards the political class. I at least think that
people who enter politics, must live from politics, and live well. There must be good people who get involved, people who only want the good. We don’t have to represent so
down to the Paraguayan people.
There are many valuable people in the country…
I was one of the fans of not dabbling, but today I am grateful for having
ventured, because I am getting to know a lot of people, a lot of places that I never
had stepped on That she had never felt that need like now when walking, feeling and seeing.
I worked in the private sector for so many years, Paraguay has given me so much, five years are not
wrong, to dedicate them to a country that we love so much.
What is Paraguay and Paraguayan for you?
The Paraguayan has different versions. It has the version of the upper middle class and the class
low is another version. When the survey came out stating that Paraguay was the happiest country,
surely he was referring only to the upper class, because they live very well. Now that I’m sharing
a lot with people. One sees the needs and the hopes that the bases have, and there
one wonders, where was I living? There are places with many needs
only five kilometers away. Now is the right time to assist these people. The situation makes it the ideal time to take the leap.
How were its beginnings?
I graduated as an engineer and a year later I created a small construction company. Me
dad bought two or three machines and then the owner of Concremix shows up to offer me
be your partner. He tells me that I have very good potential. I got on the train and we worked
together for 37 years.
What are your proposals for the Senate?
What I think after visiting the departments of Ñeembucú, Caazapá, Guairá,
San Pedro, Central and Asunción is that there is a common factor which is the need to
worked.
I believe that Paraguay is in a spectacular moment. We always keep the same
center right sign, private property, free economy, free enterprise. We have
a very well installed macroeconomy. This stability, fresh water, energy
electricity, we have a youth from 20 to 35 years old, with knowledge, taking advantage of
Argentina, Brazil and Chile changed signs. Paraguay is the safest place to go
find.
It is time to create laws that will convince all these people to invest. so that not
go to Argentina, Chile and Brazil. The Chileans are watching closely, the Argentines
They are already building buildings.
One final message?
My message would be that all of us who have to vote should go do it. There are
many candidates for senators. By voting correctly on December 18 we will
design what kind of Paraguay we want for the coming years.
