The most recent study by Viajala.com revealed the tourist destinations that Colombians prefer nationally and internationally during this 2022. Also those that will be a trend in 2023.
At the national levell, Tolú was the national destination that has shown the most growth in terms of the number of searches so far in 2022. $206 compared to 2021. The increase in prices there has only been 16%.

“Tolú is a privileged destination due to its proximity to Coveñas and an alternative beach to Santa Marta and Cartagena,” explains Catalina Jaramillo, financial director of Viajala. “Since this year it has been connected to Medellin with a direct flight thanks to Easyfly and Satena airlines, which explains why it is the destination that has experienced the greatest growth this year,” she points out.
Now, the second destination most frequented by Colombians is Villavicencio, which showed un 40% growth in searches compared to 2021 and a price increase of 11%.
This is one of the most dynamic places in the country due to the festivities in the department of Meta and the large concentration of businesses that take place there.

Among the international routes, Punta Cana stands out, which increased in popularity and has seen a decrease in its price. “After Cancun, Punta Cana is the most popular beach destination in the Caribbean with excellent infrastructure and a wide range of hotels“, says Jaramillo. “What is new is that it is now more connected with Colombia with direct flights from different cities operated by Wingo, which makes it the most accessible destination,” he points out.
Finally, Madrid continues to be the city that increased the most andn searches during 2022 with a growth of 175% in relation to 2021. Likewise, other cities in Spain such as Valencia and Alicante stand out.
Compared to 2019, flying to Madrid is today 51% more expensive, while traveling to Valencia and Alicante is 33% more expensive. Alicante is 69% more popular with Colombian travelers today than it was 3 years ago, while Valencia is 52% more popular.

According to the National Institute of Statistics of Spain, INE, Colombians are the fourth largest foreign population group in Spain, with some 315,885 Colombians living in this country after migrants from Morocco, Romania and the United Kingdom, according to figures from January 1 of 2022.
