Its business model allows the company to develop and scale rapidly original and third-party restaurant brands. The company operates more than 80 kitchens and ships more than 200,000 orders per month.
The Bogotá-based company, which develops restaurant brands designed exclusively for delivery, it plans to use the funds to expand in Brazil and reach 100 kitchens by the end of the year.
It was founded in 2019 by two friends who met while pursuing their MBA at Harvard Business School, Daniela Izquierdo and Juan Guillermo Azuero.
“Building a relevant business in Brazil will be a key factor for Foodology. Therefore we will increase the number of kitchens we operate and look for M&A opportunities. Additionally, with the injection of capital, we have developed new brands that we will soon launch on the market and that will increase our income by bringing a greater number of orders per kitchen and therefore, increasing our profitability,” said Azuero.
Izquierdo always had a clear passion and it was gastronomy. However, she graduated as an industrial engineer from the Universidad de los Andes and began her career in investment banking. For her part, Azero He is an administrator at HEC Lausanne University in Paris. They have a Master’s degree in Finance from MIT Solan and before starting their own business, they had a successful consulting career with the Boston Consulting Group.
