On August 20, Judge Marco Antonio Fuerte Tapia determined to issue the precautionary measure of justified preventive detention against the former Attorney General of the Republic, Jesús Murillo Karam, for the crimes of forced disappearance, torture and against the administration of justice, in the case Ayotzinapa.
The former official was then transferred to the North Reclusorio of the Mexican capital.
The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) accused former prosecutor Jesús Murillo Karam of “forging”, “weaving”, “creating”, “assembling” and “disguising” the so-called “historical truth” that was revealed in the case of the disappeared normalistas of Ayotzinapa.
“With the historical truth, you (Murillo Karam) maliciously truncated, frustrated and discarded other lines of investigation and prevented the relatives of the disappeared students from accessing information and justice,” charged the FGR.
