The hours worked in the country during the second quarter of the year were 9.4% more than in the same quarter of last year, according to a report by the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (Indec).
According to INDEC, the hours worked in the period reached 33,551 million (annualized) and were equivalent to an average of 1,551 hours per year per job.
In the Income generation and labor input account of the National Accounts, published this week, the agency specified that total jobs reached 21,636 (in thousands) in that period.
In “Transportation, storage and communications” the hours worked on average for each position reached 1,904 hours
Wage earners worked 25,044 million hours (+9.4% year-on-year); and the non-salaried, 8,507 million hours worked (also with growth of 9.4%).
According to the INDEC, the rise in unregistered salaried jobs (20.2% year-on-year) and in the hours worked in this same category stand out, reaching 7,443 million (22.2% year-on-year).
Meanwhile, the hours worked in registered salaried positions were 17,601 million (+4.8% year-on-year),

In the analyzed period, the “Fishing” sector was the one with the highest number of hours worked per position, with 2,830 annualized quarterly hours; followed by “Exploitation of mines and quarries” with 2,122 hours.
In “Transportation, storage and communications” the hours worked on average for each position reached 1,904 hours.
The sectors with the lowest number of hours worked per job position were “Private education”, which reached 818; and “Public education”, with 860 in the second quarter.
