Next week the Government of the President Gabriel Boric will renew the State of Constitutional Exception for the region of La Araucanía and the provinces of Bio Bío and Arauco in the Bio Bío region. This was stated by the Minister of the Interior, Carolina Tohawho took advantage of the promotion and retirement ceremony for Carabineros general officers to state that they hope to present a bill on the new modality in the State of Exception next week.
“The Government has been working with parliamentarians from different benches, both in the Senate and in the House, to try to build an understanding, a formula that generates enough agreement to have a new form of state of exception, which is more appropriate to the type of conditions that we have in the zone”, indicated the Secretary of State in the ceremony in which the presidential delegate of the Metropolitan Region was present, Constance Martinezthe deputy secretary of the interior, Manuel Monsalve and the general director of Carabineros, Ricardo Yanez.

When delving into this “new modality”, Tohá maintained that they have advanced a lot in the future project, for which they hope to present it next week so that it can begin processing in Congress.
Previously, the Secretary of State had already indicated the intention that in this new modality there would not be a limit of individual guarantees as it currently is and that its renewal would not be for 15 days, but for 60 at the beginning.
