This Monday 24 begins the week of representation corresponding to the month of October in the Congress of the republic Therefore, committee and ordinary meetings, with some exceptions, will be suspended.
The Board of Spokespersons determined that this time of representation will end on Friday, October 28, complying with the provisions of subparagraph f) of article 23 of the Internal Regulations of Parliament.
According to this provision, parliamentarians, within the framework of their functional duties, have the obligation to maintain communication with citizens and social organizations in order to know their concerns, needs and process them according to current regulations.
For this, “five continuous working days per month are constituted in the electoral district of origin or in any part of the country, individually or in a group,” the law details.
“Likewise, they must attend to duly substantiated and documented complaints from the population, supervise the respective authorities and contribute to mediating between citizens and their organizations and the entities of the Executive Power, regularly reporting on their parliamentary actions,” adds the rule.
It is also detailed that in the case of congressmen elected by the electoral constituency of Peruvians residing abroad, seven calendar days are constituted in their constituency.
