The tourism sector needs 3,000 employees for winter

The recovery of tourism in the country has meant that this sector currently has a demand of more than 3,000 additional employeesof the 90 thousand that countsto supply the winter season.

According to Ernest Veloz, president of the Association of Hotels and Tourist Projects of the Eastern Zone (Asoleste), they are currently in need of employees, who have not yet completed the workforce and in the high season they will require the total mentioned above.

Hoteliers wait to fill these vacancies for the return of staff who left, which could be for different reasons: change of activity or who decided to stay in their towns.

But, if these do not return, Veloz argued that they are preparing with the National Institute of Vocational Technical Training (Infotep) the necessary employment.

He also highlighted the work that the Ministry of Labor has done in holding fairs for jobs to recruit staff.

The areas that most need staff, he said, are those that work directly with the client, such as reception, bars, restaurants and entertainment.
