An economic support of 2,000 balboas will be given by the City of Knowledge Foundation to projects that contribute to social innovation and community participation, through the Ingenia Cultural Fund, a support and investment mechanism in the cultural and creative sector of Panama.
For Rita Silvestri, Culture and Community Specialist at the City of Knowledge Foundation, this initiative not only provides innovative opportunities to promote creative industries, but also transforms our society and all the agents that comprise it through the exploration of different human and cultural interactions.
“The Ingenia Cultural Fund is a powerful tool that reinforces the positioning of culture as a key element of social change,” he said.
He stressed that the benefited projects will have the support of the City of Knowledge Foundation for the development of activities, in addition to receiving financial support of 2,000 balboas.
He revealed that the registrations will start from October 21, 2022 at 8:00 a.m. to November 27, 2022 at 12:00 a.m. There will be three winning projects.
Last year 3 projects were selected: Maritza Vernaza (Travesías por la Memoria), Miko Delgado (Let yourself fall) and Andrea Pinzón (School of Circular Gastronomy).
To participate in the Ingenia Cultural Fund it is necessary to enter the platform http://ingenia.ciudaddelsaber.org and complete the application form. The project presented must be aligned with one or more of the strategic lines of the fund, must be executed in the area of the City of Knowledge and be related to the following topics:
- Culture, social innovation.
- History of Panama and the City of Knowledge.
- Intangible and material heritage.
- Gender: feminism.
- Biodiversity: fauna and flora of the City of Knowledge.
- Environmental issues such as climate change.
- Sustainable Development Goals and their understanding.
- Discrimination based on ethnicity, economic situation,
sexual orientation and age among others.
