The organizations that make up the space “The Homeland is the Other” celebrated the measure announced jointly by the Ministry of Economy and Anses “thanks to which $45,000 will be paid in two installments of $22,500 each during the months of November and December for people who are destitute”.
“We call on all the militancy to organize ourselves and tour the popular neighborhoods to make it easier for those who need it to register and receive this Reinforcement. It is a positive measure within the framework of a very difficult context for our people”, they pointed out from this space that integrates the Front of All (FdT).
In this sense, they recalled that “the Basic Food Basket and the Total Basic Basket increased by 7.1% in September 2022”.
They also recalled that the Indec reported that homelessness rose to 8.8% in the first half of this year. Due to inflation, every day it is more difficult to reach the end of the month.
“For this reason, to this announcement must be added the granting of a fixed sum that accompanies the parity for registered workers,” it was stressed from the “Homeland is the Other.”
“The Food Reinforcement for Adults without Income is a step forward on the right path in terms of social assistance. It must become a right: that is why it is necessary to advance in the approval of the bill that creates an Income Reinforcement equivalent to the Basic Food Basket against hunger and indigence”, they considered.
For the group, “the income policy for the informal sectors cannot be arbitrary or discretionary; it has to be administered by Anses and it has to reach all the people who need it.”
“This must be complemented by targeted programs to support worker cooperatives that bring together thousands and thousands throughout Argentina. We call on all political, trade union, social and religious leadership to develop this debate. Let us work and militate to guarantee the right to eat and the right to work,” they pointed out.
