More than 100 Argentine and Spanish companies participated in the Residence of the Argentine Embassy in Spain in a business round of the national agri-food business sector, in which they held an approximate number of 200 meetings, concluding deals in areas such as grains, fruits, wines, legumes and oilseeds, among others.
The trade mission of the Argentine Agrifood Sector, organized by the Argentine Embassy in Spain and the Undersecretary for the Promotion of Trade and Investment of the Argentine Foreign Ministry, took place on October 20 and 21 at the Residence of the Argentine Embassy in Madrid and had outstanding results, according to the organizers.
Ambassador Ricardo Alfonsín began the meeting with a few words of welcome, thanking the companies for their participation. He highlighted that the Argentine agri-food sector is essential to continue on the path of post-pandemic economic growth and that this mission demonstrates the interest of Spain in our national production, of high quality and sustainability.
On the margins of the Mission, an important Business Round took place in which AFOEX (National Association of Companies for the Promotion of Oilseeds and their extraction); CESFAC (Spanish Confederation of Manufacturers of Compound Feed for Animals) and AECEC (Spanish Association of Foreign Trade in Cereals and Analogue Products) spoke with Argentine businessmen about the European regulations for the introduction of these products in the community market.
Secondly, the Argentine Embassy organized meetings of Argentine provincial officials with Fundación Madri+D, Invest In Madrid and the Madrid Chamber of Commerce in which progress was made in scientific, technological and business cooperation.
On the last day, the Undersecretary for Trade and Investment Promotion Guillermo Merediz closed the event highlighting the previous work and effort by the public sector through the Foreign Ministry and the Embassy as well as the private sector, in this case represented by businessmen both Argentine and Spanish. The result of the joint work translates into an increase in Argentine exports to Spain and Spanish investments in our country.
