They deliver an order to proceed for land use plans of 6 tourism projects

This Friday, October 21, Government authorities carried out the work tour 117, on the Island of Taboga, where 15 institutions participated, including the Ministry of Housing and Territorial Planning (Miviot) who delivered the order to proceed for the execution of construction plans. Territorial planning in tourist destinations in the country.

The Minister in charge of the Miviot, José Batista González, explained that the order to proceed was assigned for six tourist destinations such as Bocas del Toro, Tierras Altas, Soná, Pedasí and Taboga.

He indicated that the management plan will not only define the land uses of tourist areas; but it will also protect the destinations and the necessary works will arise for the fulfillment of this plan, such as infrastructure works and housing works.

The plan starts with the order to proceed and in 145 days it should be ready.
The Minister of the Tourism Authority, Ivan Skildsen, said that this team project is financed by the Inter-American Development Bank, and will help orderly development, taking care of cultural attractions and nature with the participation of local communities.

He added that it is something historic, since climate change and mitigation plans will be developed.
