The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, reported that this Friday the parliamentary work commissions of Colombia and Venezuela were installed and will visit the towns of both borders to analyze the most sensitive issues of the binational border area.
This Friday, October 21, within the framework of the Binational meeting of parliamentarians Venezuelans and Colombians, held at the Simón Bolívar bridge, in the state of Táchira, on the border between Venezuela and Colombia, Rodríguez specified that the most sensitive issues are those related to tradetransportation, complete opening of the border and security, among others.
He pointed out that both chambers will address these issues together with the mayors, governors, councilors, living sources, merchants, businessmen, ranchers and peasants from the border areas, in order to accompany in legislative matters, all the policies issued by both presidents, Gustavo Petro and Nicolas Maduro.
“The love between our peoples has triumphed, the love between our common history, our common parents, and that is the reason why we are meeting today, the parliamentarians of the Colombian Congress, deputies, deputies, senators and senators, and the deputies of the National Assembly of Venezuela”, he highlighted.
Agreement
Likewise, he indicated “we have an agreement that will allow us to understand both congresses to jointly address social, commercial, economic, political, and social control issues, which are fundamental for the harmonious development of the life of our border towns.” ».
“We are in permanent coordination with the Colombian Congress, it is a very rich meeting that will generate opportunities for future meetings,” he said, explaining that the parliamentary function is one of “political and social accompaniment so that the voice of the people of the border can be heard. ».
Integration
For her part, the president of the Colombian Legislative Commission, Gloria Flórez, said that this day Colombia and Venezuela return to the path of integration.
“We collect the flags of Simón Bolívar, Manuela Sáenz and all the liberators, so as never to break diplomatic relations between the two sister countries,” he stressed.
He also said that during the meeting the most sensitive issues of the inhabitants of the borders were addressed, “in a job that we will continue to do to unite the peoples for the regional and Latin American cause.”
“They have never been able to divide us and these peoples are united. The rupture affected our diplomatic relationship by closing the border and ending the consulates, so important for both peoples », he indicated.
For Gloria Flórez, the message is that “these relations between Colombia and Venezuela must put the center of border development as the most important thing.”
In this sense, he pointed out that the productive forces must be developed and in all the municipalities they must get ready for productive development, in order to improve the quality of employment and social programs, which we will carry out together to address border relations.
Bilateral Parliamentary Meeting
During the Bilateral Parliamentary Meeting, in which 36 Colombian parliamentarians and 32 from Venezuela participated, a roadmap was drawn up that contemplates issues that affect the citizens who live in the border area between Venezuela and Colombia.
In this sense, starting on October 21, five binational meetings were agreed in different border communities, in which they will address various issues.
