Claro and Entel led the list of operators with the best quality in the mobile service in Metropolitan Lima, revealed an Osiptel ranking carried out between February and June of this year.
These companies were followed by Movistar and Bitel. However, the latter tops the list when it comes to voice prompts.
The ranking also places La Punta as the district with the best mobile quality in Lima and Callao. This area displaced Barranco, which in 2021 ranked first and today is in eighth place. The panorama of My Peru is different, which, as in 2021, was ranked last.
In addition, in Arequipa the district with the best quality was Characato, while in Trujillo Víctor Larco Herrera appeared.
Investment in infrastructure
From Osiptel, they called on the new municipal authorities not to put up barriers to companies seeking to invest in infrastructure to improve quality.
The president of the regulator, Rafael Muente, also recalled that they opposed the guaranteed minimum speed law (70% of what was contracted since December 3, 2022) and said that the rule has caused operators to withdraw coverage in some areas because “They expose themselves to not being able to comply with the parameters” of the law.
