The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, announced the need to undertake a process of the communal democratic model through the improvement and review of all the laws of People’s Power.
«I believe that we must undertake a new stage, a process of revision and improvement of all the laws of People’s Power with a great debate, to remake and improve all these laws, it is necessary to simplify the organizational formulas so that the people build their organizational structure from the grassroots,” said the President from the El Maizal Commune in Lara state.
He ordered a review of the organizational structure of the State and the Government to put it at the service of the construction of Communal Power “We have to remake ourselves, revolutionize ourselves, be reborn like the phoenix in the very bowels of the Homeland.”
It is necessary to set up a work table to simplify the mechanisms and laws of People’s Power.
He entrusted this task to the minister for the communes, Jorge Arreaza. He also called for a thorough review of the public policies with which the communes are being served.
«I think that we have had hard times, especially in 2015 when the extreme right won the National Assembly and hardships came for the people. From there they called for sanctions and invasions and set up a parallel government that is already in history,” Maduro said.
He assured that the approach with which communes were created is no longer the same, so you have to update the processes.
“The laws of popular power were good and fulfilled their mission, now we must learn from what has been applied. The value of an organization lies in its way of acting. We are heading towards a new era », he stressed.
«I want to decree the year 2023 as the year of popular power in Venezuela! The 1×10 nation is thinking about the bases, because we are rebuilding ourselves to enter the new stage with everything. I want 2023 to be the year of communal power in Venezuela,” Maduro said.
According to data from the presidency of the republic, to date, there are around 49,000 Communal Councils, and more than 3,600 communes nationwide.

Maduro announced this Thursday the approval of 473 self-management projects by the Federal Government Council, to be executed by the Communes and Communal Councils throughout the national territory.
The national president explained that the amount exceeds 46 million bolívares and were designated for projects of communal power in the country.
“Here is Chávez because here are his dreams, his ideas, his hopes, his smile, the great sun of the Homeland is here,” said the president during the event dedicated to the commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of the “Coup of the Rudder”, instructed by Commander Chavez.
This week, 46 million 282 thousand 945 bolivars were approved for 473 self-management projects of communal power by the Federal Council of Government.
The El Maizal Commune is also a reference of the active communal struggle on a national scale and is characterized by the organization from the political and productive, as flags that identify this space since 2009 when Commander Hugo Chávez assigned these lands on March 5 to the communal Battle Rooms, and on November 29 of that same year, he carried out his emblematic program Aló Presidente to highlight the benefits and progress of productive work from this place.
