Palmeiras defeated Universidad de Chile 2-1 on Thursday night (20) at the Casa Blanca stadium, in Quito (Ecuador), to close the opening phase of the Women’s Libertadores with 100% success.

After beating the Chileans, Palestrinas reached nine points, securing the first position of Group C. Thus, the Brazilian team takes on Santiago Morning (Chile), second in Group D, in the quarterfinals of the competition. The match will be next Sunday (23).
Palmeiras’ victory began to be built in the 41st minute of the first half, when Carol Baiana scored with a header from a corner. At 3 minutes of the final stage, Universidad came to draw with Gabriela Huertas, who took a penalty with category.
But the night was really for Palestrinas, who secured the final victory in the 23rd minute, when Katrina lifted the ball in the area in a free-kick for Poliana to head in.
