The government announced this Thursday bill approved this Thursday by the Council of Ministers on the social security reform.
The text will be sent to Parliament on Friday for treatment.
In a press release, the government assured that the objective is “to ensure all Uruguayans a fair, solid and sustainable pension system.”
The explanatory statement was also disclosed. “For several years, the main referents of governments of different political persuasions have been supporting the need to carry out this reform. Beyond particular nuances and visionsthere is a general consensus on the need to address the issue without delay,” he says in an excerpt.
