Tens of truckers paralyzed their units this Thursday night in the port of East Haina in protest at the alleged slowness in the delivery of containers with the commodity.
According to the protesters, the port operators who handle the cranes take hours to place the container with the commodity in the truck to be transported to its destination.
“The strike is due to the delay that the cranes have to place the commodity. And this affects us and the customers”, said the driver Javier de la Cruz.
In that sense, he indicated that they arrive early to look for the containers, however, they take several hours to be dispatched.
“You can’t give it away. commodity customers in the estimated time, but one also loses a lot of time”, he explained.
Similarly, Antonio Flores complained, stating that he had been looking for a container since this morning and it had not yet been delivered.
“I’ve been here since 11:00 in the morning, I came to look for a container and this is the time that no one has given me anything,” he said.
In his opinion, this is an abusive action by the port administration.
Alexander Feliz, another driver, agreed with the stoppage and said that he will be supporting his colleagues.
