The Public Ministry (MP) charged four former officials of the Anzoátegui police for exercising cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment against a citizen at the Citizen Attention Point (PAC) of Los Yopales, reported the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab.
“The former Municipal Police officials Porfirio Gómez, Andrés Martínez, José Ortega and Franknel Urriola Rondón were charged by the Public Ministry in El Tigre Anzoátegui for the crimes of cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment,” Saab announced through his account in the Twitter social network.
Recently, police officers were recorded beating a citizen at the Citizen Attention Point (PAC) of Los Yopales, for which they were detained for later charges.
“These officials attached to the Simón Rodríguez POLISOSIR Municipal Police beat a defenseless citizen at the Los Yopales police station located in El Tigre,” Saab said.
The Public Ministry carries out a policy of not allowing police officers to commit abuses against citizens, and has called for the cruel treatment of police officers to be recorded in order to have evidence and do justice.
