The Comprehensive Defense Operational Zone No. 34 Cojedes announced that a recent security operation framed in the Bolivarian Shield Exercise, resulted in the dismantling of 3 Organized Crime Structured Groups (GEDO) in San Carlos.
The information was offered by the G/D Miguel Óscar Cuadros, commander of the ZODI, who highlighted that among the most outstanding cases is the seizure of 195 kg of copper, where three citizens belonging to the gang “Los Pica Cobre” were arrested. .
These citizens were seized a Ford 150 brand vehicle, Pick Up model, white, with the strategic material that came from a company belonging to Petróleos de Venezuela SA
The capture took place in Sector Mata Oscura, Anzoátegui municipality of Cojedes state, the detainees were ordered by the Public Ministry.
Other cases
Another of the announced procedures was the GEDO “Los Morochos”, made up of two citizens who were captured in the Centro Av. Ricaurte sector with Madariaga street, San Carlos municipality, for theft and use of criminal objects.
In the same operation, the GEDO “Los Vegueros” was dismantled, made up of two citizens who were seized a facsimile of a firearm, a motorcycle-type vehicle and a knife-type white weapon; the detainees were dedicated to robbing passers-by in the La Culebra sector.

The Commander of the ZODI No. 34 Cojedes, assured that these operations that are carried out weekly in the entity yield positive results, detailing that during two days 8 citizens were apprehended who were requested through the Comprehensive Police System (Sipol), 13 citizens were captured in flagrante, 8 arrested for various crimes such as robbery, theft, use of objects from crime, gender violence, wrongful injuries, among others. 19 people arrested for illicit possession of firearms, and retained 20 firearms, 19 bladed weapons and 8 cartridges without firing.
The G/D Cuadros reported that these operations are carried out in the municipalities with the highest population density and with the highest incidence of crime, after an intelligence analysis provided by the state security agencies.
“We continue to generate positive incidents, in terms of security, prevention and awareness, we have given guidelines to our security forces to raise awareness among the population, so that they contribute to the care and protection of Cojedeña families,” said the Commander.
Likewise, he recognized the actions of the security agencies, the ZODI, the GNB, the SEBIN, CONAS, DGCIM, CICPC, National, State and Municipal Police, Firefighters, among others, who are permanently ensuring security in the communities. of Cojedes.
