Battle Moré began by recounting the vicissitudes to buy mincemeat. “I took the turn to buy only four tubes of picadillo. I mean, it’s getting up early, people feeling cold, people in dire need of food, making a horrible queue, a pile of people with everything and whatever is being organized for four sad tubes of hash, “she lamented.
Likewise, he acknowledged that he had “great indignation” at the “very poor” life that Cubans have been given. “This is disgusting, gentlemen, disgusting,” she said. “There is nothing more outrageous for a human being than having to be fighting for food, having to be begging. I promised myself that I would never stay silent because what I am is stubborn. It is a level of obstinacy, of annoyance… You get up and try to be positive, you try to make things go well, you try to think, but it is not possible, the situation in this country is unlivable. It’s insufferable. This sucks, it sucks.”
The Cuban woman also questioned: “Do you know what it’s like to get up early for four tubes of filthy mincemeat? And so we all are, so we are thousands of people. I wonder: How long are we going to have to follow this? It’s unheard of, it’s embarrassing, it’s the latest…” she said.
“Dogs in America live better than we do. How long are we going to be like this?” she wondered.
Battle Moré also alluded to and addressed the Cuban authorities: “All that departed of sanacos that they are directing, what are they doing?, what are they doing? (…) It started from inept, energetic, inefficient, get out of there. They have already stolen everything that they were going to steal, they have finished with this country, now get out of there, leave, ”he snapped.
Likewise, he asked: “Open this now and say that this is capitalism, open and say: ‘People of Cuba, you are dogs, for you there are no nawe don’t care about you, screw yourselves, do what you want, jump into the sea, jump pa the jungle, but put your face, departed cheeky.”
Battle Moré lamented that the days and years go by and Cubans lose their lives. “That’s not fair. What we are experiencing is not fair. We are not animals,” he pointed out.
“There is no duralgin, there is no paracetamol, there is no antibiotic. Everything is there is not, there is not, it is not possible, ”she finished.
