Officials of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) rescued an 11-year-old girl who had been kidnapped for nine days on Tuesday night, according to police sources.
The minor is the granddaughter of Carmen Belén Guzmán Calderón, an official of the PNB who holds the hierarchy of commissioner-chief, attached to the Directorate of Public Order.
The rescue of the minor took place at kilometer 33 of the Autopista Regional del Centro, La Bonanza sector, Miranda.
The minor was kidnapped on October 10 in the West Tower of Parque Central, Caracas. That day, Argenis Alfonso Albornoz Rivas, who is a romantic partner of the police officer, gagged the uniformed woman, took her regulation weapon (a Beretta pistol, PX4 serial PX5687E) and fled with the minor, according to the initial versions.
From that day on, the subject wandered with the girl through the Valles del Tuy, among other Mirandino sectors adjoining Aragua. Residents reported this fact and that is when police commissions were activated between Charallave and Cúa.
In fact, on October 15, a Policharallave commission tried to arrest the kidnapper in Brisas de Charallave (Miranda), where the criminal confronted the officials, two of whom were injured, the sources said.
At that time, the subject was not with the girl, according to investigations.
The procedure was notified to the Public Ministry from where they opened an investigation in order to determine the possible link of the police officer as co-author of the events that occurred.
