The head of the Secretariat for Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Rosa Icela Rodríguez, stressed yesterday from the full Senate that in Mexico there is a civil government and a Peace Army that does not persecute or criminalize, but rather protects society, Therefore, the opponents’ assertion that the country is advancing towards militarization lacks support. She explained: peace is a matter of state.

It also revealed doublespeak of legislators who in public, like yesterday, criticize the work of the armed forces in public security, but in private they ask for the protection of the Army and the National Guard (GN) for the governments of their states and their families. That was the secretary’s response to criticism from PAN, PRI and MC legislators, which in the case of PAN member Lilly Téllez and Germán Martínez, from the Plural Group, led to disqualification and insults against the head of the Secretary of the National Defense (Sedena), Luis Cresencio Sandoval, who accompanied Rodríguez, along with other members of the security cabinet.

In her initial speech, the official stressed that the construction of peace in the country It is not just a matter of a government, much less of a party, but of the State.

However, most of the opponents, especially PAN members, emecistas and the Plural Group, were very upset because only she was summoned to appear, while Sandoval, the head of the Navy, Rafael Ojeda Durán, and the commander of the GN, Luis Rodríguez Bucio, only attended as guests.

To the opponents’ statement that the country is advancing towards militarization, the head of Security replied that this condition means that the military rule, and that does not happen in Mexico.

opposition offensive

On behalf of the PAN, Lilly Téllez went from the claims to the insult, amid the annoyance of the Morena bench and even some of her party colleagues, such as Josefina Vázquez Mota.

Téllez accused the head of the Sedena of being silent, claim power slicesturn the armed forces into a corporate political army and even being responsible for blood bath in which Mexico is.

In a similar tone, Germán Martínez, from the Plural Group, called out his speech last September at Chapultepec Castle, where he pointed out that there were those who, with biased commentssought to separate the armed forces from the trust of the citizens.

Martínez said he was alluded to for having voted against the reform that leaves control of the GN in Sedena. Those of us who have pointed out military tasks in the exercise of our legislative work do not deserve your reproach, I do not accept it, I am not your troopdemanded the legislator.

He added many other claims to Sandoval, to whom he demanded that the militia respect the law and even asked him: just as you obey to build an airport, a train, and if perhaps you were ordered to liquidate an electoral adversary, would you also obey?

Lucía Trasviña (Morena) also responded rudely: I am sorry that the people of Mexico have to put up with these rudenesses, these insults, this lack of respect for the institutionsreproached, and called the opponents scum and garbage.. bastards.

The president of the Board of Directors, Alejandro Armenta (Morena), called to order and demanded no more insulting adjectives. The coordinator of the bench of the party in power, Ricardo Monreal, highlighted in the tribune the nonsense of an opposition that in pursuit of easy applause uses a language of hatred and rancor against the armed forces. It is a wrong strategy, but there you go; We express to you, General Secretary of Defense, our respects.

In her second and last shift, Rosa Icela Rodríguez defended the role of the armed forces, which, she assured, are recognized by the majority of citizens and deplored the double discourse of those who criticize the extraordinary work of the Army and the Navy, they call it militarization, but they ask for it for their states.

Names, names!shouted Xóchitl Gálvez and other PAN members. The secretary only commented that one of them is the governor of Aguascalientes, and she added the case of a legislator who, in public one day he criticizes and another he disqualifies the GN, and in private he requests protection of his elements for his family. At night, on Twitter, Lilly Téllez acknowledged that she is the one in question.
