THE National Radio celebrates Poet’s Day this Thursday (20) with an unprecedented interview with Nicolas Behr during the program It’s All Brazil, at 4 pm. In conversation with journalist Ana Pimenta, the author talks about the relationship between music and poetry.
Known as a poet from Brasilia, Nicolas Behr has a vast poetic production. Active in literature since the 1970s, when he moved from Cuiabá to the country’s capital, the writer addresses in many of his works the strangeness and charms of Brasília and its relationship with the city.
Nicolas Behr’s poetry crossed the boundaries of literature and reached music. Nicolas is the author of Travessia do Eixão, a poem that became a song and was immortalized by bands such as Liga Tripa and Legião Urbana.
The poet is associated with the mimeograph generation, a Brazilian cultural and artistic movement inserted in the context of marginal or marginalia poetry, which took place in Brazil immediately after Tropicália, during the 1970s. The mimeograph generation also expressed itself through music, cinema and of dramaturgy, with his poetic production being the most remembered, possibly for being the most adequate to the support restrictions imposed by the mimeographed page.
