Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chis., The congresses of Chiapas and Sinaloa yesterday approved the constitutional reform that extends until 2028 the presence of the armed forces in public security tasks; In this way, there are five entities that have endorsed said modifications to the Magna Carta, since the legislatures of Mexico City, Campeche and Oaxaca have already done the same.
The Chiapas Congress unanimously validated the order in an ordinary session held after the visit that the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López Hernández, made yesterday morning to the legislative chamber.
Marcelo Toledo, president of the Commission of Governance and Constitutional Points in the Chiapas Legislature, commented that four or five deputies
spoke on the platform in favor of the initiative and then the 40 deputies voted in favor
.
The Sinaloa Congress – in which the Morena party has a majority – also certified the reforms, with 36 votes in favor and four against. The legislators who rejected the modifications were the PRI members Mario Arredondo and Luis Javier de la Rocha, the PAN member Giovanna Morachis and Celia Jáuregui, from Movimiento Ciudadano.
