Since last October 14, the “Alimentatón 2022” campaign was launched, 24 food banks in 23 cities, seek to encourage companies and civil society to contribute to food security in Colombia.

The launch of the Alimentatón 2022 was attended by public figures who support this campaign.

For this reason, Joaquin Alberto Gómez, executive director of the Cali Food Bank, points out, “This statistic is sad, but with what is thrown away, that figure could feed at least 6 or 7 Guajiras.”
Therefore, the objective of the “feeding” is to collect food and raise awareness of the great waste that exists in the country on a daily basis.

In Cali, the Archdiocesan Food Bank Foundation has been working for 22 years collecting food and other donations.
The aid is received from citizens, restaurants, in the countryside and in companies.

As a result of the food crisis, there are 310 foundations that serve the population in a vulnerable situation, benefiting nearly 70,000 people in Valle del Cauca.
