The Congress of the Republic authorized by a large majority that President Pedro Castillo may travel to Colombia this Thursday, January 13, where he will participate in the Presidential Meeting and VI Meeting of the Binational Cabinet of Ministers of both countries. He will have a meeting with the Colombian head of state Iván Duque.
The authorization was given with 110 votes in favor, 4 against and 1 abstention. The votes in red were from Norma Yarrow (Avanza País), Alejandro Muñante (Popular Renovation), Kira Alcarraz (We are Peru) and Tania Ramírez (Popular Force). The one who abstained was Magaly Ruíz from Alianza para el Progreso.
This VI Binational Cabinet will have five thematic axes: social affairs and governance; environmental and mining-energy matters; trade, economic development and tourism; security and defense; and, finally, border and immigration issues.
