Indigenous protests in Bogotá turn violent, protesters attack police

Snail News

A brutal attack suffered a police officer in the center of Bogotá, Colombia, in the midst of clashes between indigenous communities and uniformed men.

What began as a protest ended in riots. Several videos recorded how protesters assaulted the agent. In the images, the uniformed officer is seen lying on the floor, motionless, while being beaten repeatedly with blunt objects and sticks.

The policeman, along with another companion who apparently managed to get to safety, had fallen from the motorcycle when trying to control the excesses.

Another image that caused outrage was that of a patrol car from the institution who was attacked by a violent mob. The uniformed woman was at the Transmilenio Gold Museum station, located on Avenida Jiménez with Carrera VII, when she was beaten and dragged.
