The Dominican Association of Poultry Farmers (ADA) will celebrate this Thursday the “National Poultry Farmer’s Day” with the presence of President Luis Abinader, in a ceremony to be held at Hacienda Cabrera, in La Vega, on the 70th anniversary of the national poultry industry.
During the celebration, the ADA will carry out the official launch of the quality seal of freshness guarantee for the Dominican consumer, in order to distinguish national from imported chicken. The occasion is propitious to thank the Head of State for his accompaniment to the producers on such a special day.
A sample of the strength of the poultry sector has a production of around 18 million tons of chicken meat, with the capacity to reach 21 million tons of white meat.
Likewise, the poultry sector reports more than RD$ 58,000 million of annual production of broilers, as well as 400 million tons of meat, with duly installed farms in 25 provinces of the country.
“The poultry sector provides more than 26,500 jobs, 40 billion in direct investment, and more than 450 small and medium producers have an active presence in different locations in the nation, and contributes more than 58 billion pesos in broilers , which translates to more than 400 million tons of meat production annually,” the ADA said in a statement.
Finally, the producers grouped in the ADA guaranteed the nation that there will be no difficulties in supplying chicken meat at a competitive price during the Christmas and New Year seasons.
