The candidate for re-election to the Presidency of the Republic by the PL, Jair Bolsonaro, said that, if he wins the elections, he will finance, in partnership with the government of Minas Gerais, the Belo Horizonte subway. The statement was made this Wednesday afternoon (19) at a meeting with mayors and political leaders from Minas Gerais at Palácio da Alvorada.Bolsonaro says he will, with the government of Minas Gerais, build a subway in BH

“We have already agreed with the [governador reeleito de Minas Gerais Romeu] Zema, the construction of the BH subway is final. It’s a job that was dealt with by Tarcísio [de Freitas, ex-ministro da Infraestrutura]. So, it’s BRL 2.8 billion from the federal government and BRL 400 million from Zema and the subway issue in Belo Horizonte is resolved”, declared the reelection candidate.

The BH subway currently has a line, between Eldorado and Vilarinho, with 19 stations and 28.1 km in length, transporting around 178,000 people per day. This line needs several revitalization works. Line 2, connecting Barreiro to Calafate, started work in 1998, having been paralyzed in 2004.

exemption

Bolsonaro said that he will maintain the exemption of payroll charges for various categories and that he will include, already duly evaluated by the Minister of Economy, Paulo Guedes, the health sector.

“We currently have 17 categories with payroll exemptions. Paulo Guedes studied and said that it is possible. We will enter the exemption of the sheet and also include health services ”, he announced.

Bolsonaro highlighted the good numbers of the Brazilian economy in recent months and questioned what the country’s situation would be if there hadn’t been the covid-19 pandemic, which ended up putting a brake on the economy across the planet.

“What would Brazil be like without Covid? It would be flying for sure. I think our growth would be well above 4% per year. Today we have one of the lowest inflations of the year among countries around the world. We are the country that employs the most, even in the G20 [grupo dos 20 países mais ricos]”, said.

LGBT

The candidate recalled attacks by opponents, saying that his government would persecute gays, which, according to Bolsonaro, did not happen.

“They said, during the campaign, that I was going to persecute the LGBT population. Any news that violence has increased in this group? Not. Because we treat everyone equally. THE [ex-ministra da Mulher, da Família e dos Direitos Humanos] Damares did an excellent job on this issue,” said the re-election candidate.

“What is treating the LGBT community well? It’s inserting it into the job market. And that’s final. What each one will do behind four walls is his problem. It’s his pleasure. I have nothing to do with it” .

The candidate reiterated to those present that his government will always be guided by the Constitution. And that he will only make changes through decrees where it is necessary.

“To tell you that my letter to democracy is not a little piece of paper, my letter to democracy is our Constitution”, he said.
