The federal government will launch a campaign to discourage the consumption of vapers launched by the tobacco industry whose distribution and marketing have been prohibited in Mexico since last May. After reporting that 72,000 have been seized since then, the head of the Federal Commission for Protection Against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris), Alejandro Zvarch, said that these products are unique in that they cause illness and death when used in the manner intended by the manufacturer

During the presidential conference, it was reported that in 2020 the marketing companies spent 164 billion pesos to advertise their products, which, according to the labels, only contain three substances. In another order, when announcing the balance of the call to hire national and foreign medical specialists, the director of the IMSS, Zoé Robledo, reported that to cover the 749 positions that are required, 2,067 applications have been received, of which which 473 have already completed the entire process.
