The Minister of the Environment, Adrián Peña, and OSE authorities are in the Chamber of Deputies from 10:00 on a regimen of cgeneral omission to discuss the project neptune and its implications.
The convener, the deputy of the Broad Front for Río Negro, Sylvia Ibarguren, assured that the intention behind the appearance is “get answers” about the project.
In his opinion, the initiative “comes to change what OSE had been working on in relation to a projected future demand in the amount of drinking water that the Montevideo metropolitan system must have by 2045.” According to what he indicated, this projection of increase in demand has been studied; “OSE had been working on a project that had a high degree of progresswhich is a raw water reserve on the Casupá stream,” he explained.
However, the current administration of the entity commitment to the Neptuno project to seek “another type of solution for the quantitative deficit of the metropolitan system”.
Thus, the project generates “a series of doubts and inconsistencies” From the legal point of view, expressed the legislator from Río Negro, since it would contradict the article 47 of the Constitution.
