Four Yaracuy state police officials were arrested for their alleged involvement in the crime of fuel smuggling, according to military sources.
The arrests were made in the Los Tubos sector, Buria parish, Simón Planas municipality (Sarare), Lara.
Three days ago another five Poliyaracuy agents were captured in Chivacoa (Yaracuy) for allegedly extracting fuel from a pipeline located in the Los Horcones sector of the aforementioned entity.
On this occasion, the four detained police officers are identified as Winder Alexander Jiménez Bastidas (47) and Jhon Piter Briceño Marín (37), from whom two Glock pistols were seized. These uniformed men were traveling in a macho patrol marked with the number 076 which was detained by agents of the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (Dgcim) and the National Anti-extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas).
Jiménez and Briceño belong to the La Peña Police Coordination Center (Yaracuy). They transferred in the police patrol the sum of 440 liters of gasoline, which were extracted using a rudimentary manufacturing key, from the Maporal filler, which in turn is supplied by the pipeline from the El Palito refinery (Carabobo), belonging to PDVSA. .
The other two police officers were traveling on a black MD motorcycle without license plates, and were registered as Yilfred Salas Puertas (28) and José Antonio Torres Camacho (31), who were carrying two Glock pistols, also attached to the La Peña Police Coordination Center.
Four other subjects were captured for allegedly being involved in the extraction of fuel from the aforementioned landfill: Yonaiker Miguel Silva Bonilla (18), Carlos Eduardo Parra (19), Miguel Alejandro Chávez Puertas (21) and Ramón Jesús Sivira Sánchez (21).
Dgcim and Conas agents tried to arrest three other Poliyaracuy officials who arrived at the site in a patrol. But that trio of soldiers began an exchange of fire with the investigative commission and in the middle of the shooting, they fled.
The Public Ministry was informed of the procedures.
