Transport approved a tender for the renovation of the San Martín railway

The portfolio in charge of Alexis Guerra will invest 400 million dollars to improve the services of the San Martín between Retiro and Pilar.

The Ministry of Transport approved the call for International Public Tender 01/2022 for the design and construction of the renovation of tracks and signaling of the General San Martín railway, from Retiro to Pilar stationwhich will require an investment of $52,061 million by the national State.

It did so through resolution 699/2022 published this Wednesday in the Official Gazette, which also authorized the General Directorate of Sectoral and Special Programs and Projects to make the call and carry out all the necessary procedures to carry out the bidding procedure, The approval and award of the tender is in charge of Transportation.

The regulations also established that The Commission for the Evaluation of Offers in Projects and Programs with External Financing will be in charge of carrying out the analysis of the proposals submitted.

Through decree 1098/2017, the loan contract model of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) was approved, destined to partially finance the San Martín Railroad Improvement Project, Retiro-Pilar Branch, for an amount of up to US$400 million.

The project aims the integral improvement of the services of the San Martín in its main layout of 54.44 kilometers.
