Flamengo and Corinthians have an appointment at the Maracanã stadium, in Rio de Janeiro. Starting at 21:45 (Brasília time) this Wednesday (19) the teams will play the second game of the Copa do Brasil decision. After a goalless draw in the first leg, in the last week in Itaquera, the trophy goes to the one who wins, in regulation time or in the penalty shootout (in case of a tie in the 90 minutes). THE National Radio broadcast the match live.

Rubro-Negro comes to the confrontation with a positive record. In the last ten clashes with Timão, the Gávea team has seven wins, two draws and only one setback. In addition, Corinthians has not won Flamengo at Maracanã since 2015.
However, even with such positive numbers, coach Dorival Júnior said, in a press conference after the first game of the final, that one should not point out a favorite in a final like this: “It was a game [o primeiro da final] well played, both teams looked for the goal. They are two great teams, there is no favourite. We have to play very carefully and play more if we want the search for the result.”
The hope of the red-black crowd is concentrated in the front men of the team. Pedro, who took on the role of Flamengo’s centre-forward, has been standing out a lot, while Gabriel Barbosa stopped playing centrally to fall more on the wings.
Without being able to count on the midfielder João Gomes, suspended after receiving the third yellow card, Dorival Júnior must send to the field: Santos; Rodinei, David Luiz, Léo Pereira and Filipe Luís; Thiago Maia, Vidal, Everton Ribeiro and Arrascaeta; Pedro and Gabriel Barbosa.
Corinthians, on the other hand, relies too much on the duo Róger Guedes and Yuri Alberto, who, along with Renato Augusto, have been decisive for the Parque São Jorge team. But, shortly after the first leg 0-0, the Portuguese coach made it clear that, in order to achieve the final triumph, competitiveness is fundamental: “We will have to be competitive at Maracanã and win the Cup there. They will play their game and we will play ours.”
To try to fulfill this mission, Corinthians puts its hopes in: Cássio; Fágner, Gil, Balbuena and Fábio Santos; Du Queiroz, Fausto Vera and Renato Augusto; Adson, Róger Guedes and Yuri Alberto.
The meeting of millions: two of the greatest patrimonies of humanity together! ???

In search of Tetra in the Copa do Brasil
Both Flamengo and Corinthians have won the Copa do Brasil on three occasions. Rubro-Negro took home the trophy in 1990 (decision against Goiás), in 2006 (against Vasco) and in 2013 (beating Athletico-PR). Timão was the champion in 1995 (against Grêmio), in 2002 (against Brasiliense) and in 2009 (beating Internacional).
Just one more game to decide who will be the champion of this edition of mine… ?
