The President offers tax payment in installments to those who invest in the company Aeromar

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador called for some investors to inject fresh money into Aeromar, in order for the company to come out of its financial crisis: tax credits and debts to workers.

He offered that his government will grant facilities for taxes to be settled in partial payments, and considered that this new problem is part of the failure of the airlines of the neoliberal period.

In this context, he ratified his government’s intention to create a new aviation company incorporated into the military company that will operate the Mayan Train and the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA). Regarding the latter, he pointed out that, Like any company that starts, we are helping it to reach its breakeven point and no longer have to use budget resources; it is a process, but it bothers our adversaries a lot.

López Obrador described the disaster in the operation of the airlines in the neoliberal period, including the payments of electoral favors that the former presidents of PAN extraction, Vicente Fox and Felipe Calderón, made at the time.

Later, Calderón’s electoral fraud is aided by the big business representatives, influencers more than anything else, and Calderón pays them, returns the favor and gives them Aeroméxico. It is not so well managed either, because unfortunately most of the shares are already from a foreign fund.

The failure of Interjet is added to the current stage that Aeromar is facing, for which he stated that if an investor wants to participate, the government could support them with tax payments in installments, but first serve the workers, so that they are not laid off, but fresh capital needs to be injected.

He stressed that in the distribution of destinations, Aeromar covers routes that are not of interest to other airlines and that should be maintained, recalling that there are state capitals (Ciudad Victoria, Tepic or Xalapa) with almost no flights.

Responding to the possibility of AIFA opening operations to foreign airlines, he maintained that it is an alternative so that they can provide service, as long as it contributes to reducing costs, because, if there is no competition, a national travel ticket to Sometimes it costs more than one to another country.

Regarding the military airline, he stressed that its viability and cost-benefit is in the analysis stage, since the Mexican Air Force has the experience, pilots and mechanics that would allow its operation.

According to employee complaints, Aeromar has not paid the savings fund equivalent to 12 million pesos and the debt with the pilots as of October this year is 100 million pesos.
