“The companies of fats from edible oils, last week fell 5% and supposedly in the next 30 days they are going to improve with another 5% drop. We hope that other companies will also do the same, since international raw material prices have dropped 3, 4 and 5 times”, he maintained.

In commemoration 21 anniversary

Pérez also stated that they are also waiting for prices to be adjusted with discounts as inventories are replenished so that consumers can benefit.

“There are also industries that have made some offers so that it goes directly to the final consumer,” Perez pointed out.

He added that other products that could drop in price in the coming days are those derived from wheat, like crackers and pasta.

The president of the CNCP spoke in those terms when he placed a floral offering at the Altar of the Fatherland for the anniversary of the institution and the celebration of trade week

The entity has also developed other activities for the week of commerce, among them a mass and the delivery of food to the elderly of the San Francisco de Asís home.

For his part, Jorge Jerez, vice president of the CNCP, maintained that there will be no problem of shortages in the country because inventories are high and the government has been very attentive in providing facilities so that the raw material is not delayed.

”We understand that there is no problem with that, citizens can be calm, that products will always be available and proof of this is that the cost of living in the Dominican Republic when compared to any other country in the region, including the world, is where it is cheaper, because it has acted quickly, “he said.

Jerez said that agricultural products will remain at affordable prices for the consumer.
