The president of the Ethics Commission of the Congress, Karol Paredes (Popular Action), announced that this working group will meet in an extraordinary session on Friday, October 21 to debate and vote on the final reports of the cases of the parliamentarians Elvis Vergara and Jorge Flores, syndicated as part of the group ‘Los Niños’.
The legislator pointed out that the session will begin at 8:00 am and that the only topic will be the evaluation of the reports. In that sense, she said that the plenary session of the commission will decide if they accept them or not.
“On Friday we are going to convene the Ethics Commission at 8 in the morning to deal only with those two cases”, Paredes said in dialogue with the press after the session of the parliamentary working group that took place this Monday.
“We are going to present the final report, in that report the full Ethics Commission will decide whether or not to accept the proposal that we bring as part of the technical team”, he added.
Request to Elvis Vergara
Earlier, Congresswoman Silvia Monteza (Popular Action) asked his colleague Elvis Vergara to consider resigning from the spokesperson for the pro-populist caucus due to the prosecutor’s investigation against him for allegedly being part of ‘Los Niños’.
Monteza also asked him, as a matter of urgency, to reformulate the composition of the representatives of the bench in the Subcommittee on Constitutional Accusations, in reference to the parliamentarians Darwin Espinoza, Ilich López and Jorge Flores Ancachi, who are also indicated to be included in ‘The children’.
