SANTIAGO.- Archbishop of Santiago, Monsignor Freddy de Jesús Martínez Bretón, exhorted Dominican Christians to become lights so that they illuminate the world where there are so many adversities and darkness.

“The lanterns are placed at the top so that everyone can see them, so should our Christians today, not only the bishops, priests and consecrated persons, but all of us who confess the faith of Christ,” said Monsignor Martínez Bretón when participating. in the Awakening of the Christian program, by Radio Amistad.

Likewise, the archbishop of the local archdiocese asked the parents of families to set good examples for their children, if we really want to forge a better society in the country.

He expressed that children are the faithful reflection of their guardians and if then good values ​​and customs are not taught, then children and adults take wrong paths.

“Fathers and mothers have to raise their children demonstrating with facts that they are honest and responsible,” Monsignor Bretón pointed out.

He cited that a teacher who appears to his students with dirty clothes does not have the quality to demand hygiene from them, since they will first send him to bathe so that he can teach them later.

Monsignor Martínez Bretón reiterated his call to the parishioners so that with facts they bear witness that they are true Christians defending the teachings of Christ Jesus, the Savior.
