Kanye West wants to buy the Parler social network

The social network parler said on Monday that the American rapper kanye-west announced its intention to buy the platform, which gained popularity among conservatives close to the former president of the United States donald trump.

“In a world where conservative views are considered controversial we must ensure that we have the right to express ourselves freely,” said the rapper and mogul, who legally changed his name to Ye, in the Parler statement.

The amount of the transaction, which is expected to close in the last quarter of 2022, was not disclosed.

Kanye West has been in recent days at the center of controversy, first for having worn a shirt with the slogan “White Lives Matter”, a distortion of the famous “Black Lives Matter” which symbolized the 2020 anti-racist protests in the United States.

Also for having posted comments on Instagram and Twitter considered anti-Semitic.

His accounts were restricted after those posts, which referenced conspiracy theories about the alleged influence of the Jewish community.

“Ye is taking a revolutionary step forward in the free speech media space and you will never have to worry about being kicked off social media again,” said George Farmer, CEO of Parler.

Once again, Ye proves that he is one step ahead of the traditional media narrative,” Farmer added.

Released in 2018, Parler’s popularity skyrocketed after Trump was permanently expelled from Twitter behind the storming the capitol on January 6, 2021, when the then president was accused of inciting his supporters to violence.

Disagreeing with the growing threats of violence and illegal activity on the social network, Manzana Y Google they quickly removed it from their download platforms. Subsequently Amazon Web Service (AWS) decided to stop hosting it on their servers as well.

However, it became available again in the App storeand in April 2021 and in Google Play Store a few months later, in September.

Parler defines herself as “a driving force in the fight against Big Tech, Big Government, censorship and cancel culture.”

TruthSocialthe network launched by Trump, was again approved by the Google Play Store last week after agreeing to update its policy on removing messages that incite violence.
