The Venezuelan state airline, Conviasa, inaugurated this Sunday an air connection with Cuba from the Falcón state (northwest) to consolidate the commercial and tourist exchange between both nations, informed the Minister of Transport, Ramón Celestino Velásquez.
“Today our flagship airline Conviasa began commercial flights between Havana and Falcón, with a weekly frequency that will allow the consolidation of integration, cultural, commercial and tourist exchange between two brother towns,” the minister said on Twitter.

In the same social network, the airline explained that the route will connect the city of Las Piedras with Havana and showed images of the takeoff of the first aircraft that fulfilled the connection.
This route was announced on August 25 by the Minister of Tourism, Ali Padrón, who announced during a presidential ceremony that they were working on activating this connection to promote “shopping tourism.”
Padrón reported then that thanks to the excellent relations between Venezuela and Cuba, “shopping tourism flights” are currently carried out from Havana to Margarita twice a week.
On its web portal, Conviasa also offers flights that connect Caracas with the Cuban capital.
